PU 501 | 500: Mail merge functionality removed
In this product update, the mail merge functionality has
been removed due to the discontinued technology that it was built on. We
strongly suggest that you use the Word Merge functionality instead.
Documents page
The
mail merge menu path under the Layouts section at Modules > Documents
> Setup is removed. For more information, see Documents menu.
Documents: Settings page
The
Label: Accounts field and New Word Merge check box in the Word
Merge section are removed. For more information, see Setting up
documents.
Mail merge targets are removed
The targets for mail merge are removed. You will see an
error message if you enter the mail merge targets in the URL.
The mail merge targets are also removed from the following
function rights:
- 153 - View restricted items in search
- 160
– Allows word merge from resource search
- 194 – Shows word merge buttons in resource

Mail merge document types are not created
If
you create a new database, mail merge document types will not be created in the
Templates section on the Documents: Types page. The Word Merge
document types will be created instead. For more information, see Overview
of document types.
